Over the last few months, there's been a confusing debate about health care and, as a result, our members have a lot of questions about what reform will mean for them. While we don't know exactly what will be included in the final reform proposal, we can tell our members what we're fighting for.
That's why we're launching a new media campaign to tell our members what we're doing to protect the Medicare benefits they've earned, ensure they have the freedom choose their doctor, stop insurance companies from denying them coverage because of their health or age and make sure that no one, not the government or an insurance company - gets between them and their doctor.
These ads will send a message to Congress and the President that while we will support proposals that ensure our members and future generations have the health coverage they need, we will fight with the strength of our 40 million members against any proposals that will cut their benefits or increase their out-of-pocket costs.
AARP has been fighting for better health care for our members for the last 50 years - and we're not going to stop now.
